Dr. Paula Bumpersis from Phoenix, Arizona and graduated with a B.S. in human nutrition.  She then obtained her veterinary degree in 1989 from Colorado State University.  After graduation, she practiced and traveled in Australia for a year, then took an emergency vet position at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, now famous for the show “Animal E.R.”.  She enjoyed emergency and critical care, so she moved to the Washington D.C. area to work for a large 19-veterinarian practice.  After working emergency for 7 years, she tired of the city and long work hours, and returned to Colorado.  Paula fell in love with the Ken Caryl area, and decided to open Canyon View Animal Hospital there.  She now lives in Willow Springs with her great dane Hudson, 2 cats, and a lovebird named Iris.  During her time off, she enjoys trail running, snowboarding, and working out at the gym.  She also does volunteer work at Littleton Hospital testing dogs for the service dog program.  In addition to emergency and critical care, she has a special interest in treating ferrets, rabbits, birds and other exotic pets.

Dr. Jennifer Heim, DVM has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1993. She was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, and went to Oklahoma State University for her undergraduate and DVM degree. She then practiced in Buffalo, New York for 10 years, before moving back to Oklahoma to be near family. Having spent many summers in Georgetown, Colorado growing up, she felt the draw of the Rockies, moved to Denver two and a half years ago, and has loved every minute of it! Jen’s personal interests are family, enjoying the outdoors, hiking, and vacations that incorporate all three. Jen’s interests in veterinary medicine are dermatology, dentistry, and surgery. Jen loves working at Canyon View Animal Hospital because we have a very caring staff where the patients and clients come first. At home she has two dogs, two cats, a mouse, a rat, and four fish.
